no see. We’re still here, just haven’t been posting much…. and I at least haven’t been shooting much. Jenn’s been posting on her flickr site, and this poor blog has seen better days. Here’s a couple I took last week on a stroll in San Luis Obispo. I took these with my little go everywhere Olympus E-PL1 camera. There are times when I just don’t feel like lugging ten pounds and five K worth of gear around my neck. For those times, this micro four thirds camera really rocks….light weight, excellent image quality, and just really fun to play with.

I just returned from a short photography trip near Page Arizona. All I can say is WOW. We hit up Valley of Fire in Nevada first, then several great photo spots in Arizona: Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, and more. Jenn stayed home this trip, saving her vacation days for a longer adventure some time this summer. Who knows, after seeing my pictures we may end up back in Page!

On Saturday our very own Jennifer did something grand: With power, grace, beauty and skill she earned her 3rd degree black belt in Aikido. She was amazing, and I was fortunate enough to get a few good shots of her in action. Congratulations Jenn!

Belly up to the bar my friends. Actually, a few years ago when we stopped, you could still do that, albeit carefully (check out the photos at the end of this posting from 2007 here). All the cool old retro stools, rugs, counters, etc have been stripped by idiots taking a lot more than photos. If you’re traveling on 395 between Olancha and Lone Pine, check it out before it’s gone completely.

This is an HDR photo, finished off with a little Lucis filter for added punch.

The Muppet and the Dog Park Dobie

Just a quick posting here…we spend a good deal of time at the local dog park with our pup Moki. He’s the furry muppet in the back behind the dobie. We’ve got tons of pix, and some day we’re going to start a dog blog. Lofty goal I guess, since we rarely seem to post to this blog anymore. We still take plenty of pictures, just don’t seem to have the time to dedicate lately to blogging.

Cattlemen Days

While most of us put our pedals to the metal to get our jobs done, there are still those of us out there in spurs and leather earning their keep. Cowfolk are still alive and well in these parts, anyhow, and they showed off their mad horse skills this year at the Paso Robles Cattlemen Days competition.

A few of us from the local Camera Club hit the fairgrounds to check it out and we were pretty danged impressed how well these folks can handle their horses. I’m lucky to stay on my bike most days…
