No writing today, just photos. A few from our zoo series in sepia and black-and-white. Feel free to ask questions regarding the critters or the post processing.

Last Saturday, a small group of us joined leader David Gubernick for a day-long macro workshop. With David’s personal guidance and easy-going attitude we endured our aging knees and the often frustrating breeze (a veritable gale force wind through a close-up lens!) to observe and record our surroundings from the other-worldly perspective of a wandering bug. At day’s end, I was amazed and inspired by the many spectacular images captured. The variety of style and composition presented of the same subject matter was incredibly intriguing. Ah, there is much to learn about exploring and expanding my own vision!
Thanks, David and the rest of the group, for a fun, thought-provoking and educational experience–I’m hooked!

Not to make this blog a running commentary on the State of Oil these days, but we had to love this pump from Keeler–it doesn’t even have a slot for the $1 mark! Ah, the good ol’ days…
Remember When?

Feeling homesick for the Sierra’s today. Here’s one from last October…..view of the Eastern Sierra’s from the Alabama Hills. The light was amazing that day….an ever changing display of shadow and sunlight…one moment the high peaks were obscured by clouds, the next they were appearing ghostlike into view. This is one of my favorite photos from that trip.
As a friend of ours says….
Stay wild.
